Private For Jennifer Fox

Hi, Jennifer,

Here are two things for you to listen to.

To set the direction, I envisioned this song as having the right "vibe" for your incredible film. I was looking for something that would leave the audience with tears of inspiration and hope. A little 1973, a little "now."  Right tempo, right kind of beautiful, yet slightly bittersweet melody.  It's called Toes in the Sand by Nancy Wilson (of the group Heart). It's in a similar vein to the music Nancy did for the Cameron Crowe film, Almost Famous, which btw, was set in 1974.

What my brother came back with was admittedly quite different from what I expected.  I wanted to send it to you because it might, indeed, be something you like.

Before you listen, realize that it's my brother singing the melody. Since it was written for a female singer, and since he's more of a composer/musician than a singer, it's not ideal. But it gives you an idea.

Here are the 3 options I see:

1) If you like the version my brother did, but want to hear it in a female voice, we can have that done for you.

2) If you were looking for something else, like the Nancy Wilson song, we could reach out to Nancy herself, or we could look for another songwriter to adapt the lyrics I wrote.

3) And of course you are free to go in another direction. I completely understand. I would still like to help you in some way with your film. I truly believe "The Tale" is extraordinary, not only in your vision/direction/storytelling as a film but also in its ability to impact lives in a powerful and meaningful way.

Whatever option you choose, it's an honor to know you and support you in any way I can.
